Tried Everything, Still Not Connecting

1. Windows XP
2. What firewalls you have? McAffee
3. How much ram? 512
4. Hard Disk space available? Plenty
5. Connection type? wireless
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Not sure if I have this figured out right, but it appears to be a BreezeAccess Alvarion model # 824702
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? Home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? LW 14.12.11, Java 6
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Wmtel Mutual (local service provider)
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Says "Your Test worked!"
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. First try
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes, but it has been configured so that Limewire should always be allowed to connect.

I really have no idea what else to try. I have read thread after thread and tried different things, messed with proxies, etc. Nothing works. I talked to my ISP and they don't know of anything like this that they block. I reconfigured my firewall to always allow LimeWire.

Please advise!

Try this, Roll back your java to "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 12"
Now! Go to,
START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs,
now completely remove all versions of java.
Re BOOT Your computer NOW.

Now! Use this Blue Link to get "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 12" Use the off line installer, NOT the (recommended) one, 4th one down.
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5
When Download is completed.
Disconnect from internet, close ALL apps n reinstall java.

Java didn't work

I tried your suggestion about Java and followed the instructions to the letter. However, it didn't make a different. When I open up LimeWire, it says that it's getting connected, but just stays at one bar.

jcnichols Hi

I cant find any info on BreezeAccess Alvarion model # 824702.
It could have a nat firewall, if so, it will need configuring to run with L/W.

Do you also have XP firewall on, ? if so turn it off. 2 firewalls running will conflict with each other.

Check you have done this correctly
McAfee Security Center Port Forwarding to run with Limewire.

Just double check that your XP firewall is off & that your McAfee is configured to allow LW.
Click on this Blue link, it will open on the page you need.
Port Forwarding for the McAfee Security Center

I have also tired everthing

I am a school teacher who just bought an iPod. I'm going to school for my masters in technology in education so I know little about what I'm doing....not a lot. I'm not real good at this forum thing. One of my students recommended LW. I installed it and it worked for about 3 days, then while I was using it my whole Internet service crashed. I reinstalled my Internet service and now LW does not work. I tried all the suggestions and it still does not work. One thing when I go to connections on LW it is empty when I put in some of the suggested IP's they don't stay there for very long. Could this be an issue??? :bangh:
Can you please help!!!:(
