Moderators are Iternet newbies

It is easy to see that the moderators here must all be Internet
newbies. From a complete absence of response to my problem
with an older OS, there is no other answer. Moderators here
had to have only begun their Internet experience after the
advent of Win2000, which restricts them from any knowledgeable
answer to older systems.

Even IF Limewire has changed its system to such an extent that
no version, older or newer, of its program would support an OS
prior to Win2000, an actual, knowledgeable moderator would
have responded with something to inform of such a situation.
Therefore, the only moderators that actively exist here are
those that are relatively new to the Internet, and the OS
problems that exist prior to Win2000.

I sure hope that none of them ever try to give actual PC
techical support, as they wouldn't even be able to cope
with such a program as DOS. What's that? Someone so
lacking as to state that DOS no longer is needed? Since
when is a Disk Operating System not needed? The 'disk'
to which this referred is the hard drive. Don't we all still
use this? MS control was the only reason that DOS was
made to appear only inside of Windows since the advent
of Wi***. Some of the best, real, FCC Licensed techs
still use the separate DOS program for ease of working
on systems. Only the newbies, or those merely
certified techs from one company or another fall so
short of real tech ability. They could never pass the
FCC exams. (It even took me twice to make it some
years ago. Unfortunately, I am just old, retired, and
don't keep up with the study, even though I have
the actual license.)

I guess that after all the time I have used Limewire, and
with so few pressing the FTC, and the FCC to prevent
ISP's from blocking certain free access of the Internet
I will just get rid of Limewire as a means to find some
of the things I occasionally need.

Me talkee DOS.
I am actually continuing to share a very nice package of MS DOS 7.1...

BUT, nothing in that way beats DR-DOS, right ? Them were the days !

Yeah... I saw that as well... <CRINGE> <CRINGE>

In fact, a very short time ago I did write a reply that mentioned certain aspects of my past experience... including my purchase of a DIGITAL PDP-8 in the early 70's... I was shot down... well, they tried to, Ha Ha !
That nonsense re: "Who needs DOS" was outrageous...

I had a 1st Class Broadcast ticket in the 70's... 3rd Class in the mid-60's... and a General Class for amateur radio... and a 1st Class Marine Operators...
Gee, I even make antennae... How's about dat ?

So, now that I have perhaps got some of your attention, might I suggest to you that, for someone with your experience, the writing of the 'title' for your threads or posts here should be a wee bit more succinct than, Will not connect

I also assume that you are aware that your equipment is somewhat 'out of date' as they say re: performance...
But, NOT in re: to the simple use of LimeWire... It is more than adequate for such purposes...

Specifically, there is obviously something blocking your access...

Please, don't give up here... There are numerous folks here who DO have the experience AND memory capacity to help you resolve your probs, OK ?

hmmm...let's see here...98se...my first OS when I got my first machine just after 9/11/2001...hmmm...

well, I do remember it was already out of date at that time....win2kpro was already out, and it stomped the performance of 98se into the ground like a sledgehammer hitting a grasshopper....I remember the memory leak the size of my state...I remember frequently running out of available memory..I remember frequent crashes...

I definitely remember moving up to win2kpro and being completely satisfied...yep, completely happy as 98se was a POS...get a clue and grow up, spend a few bucks on a now out of date version of XP pro [whilst 2kpro is great, it is no longer supported by M$] and join the current world with an OS that will get security patches for a while longer

now, you call us mods internet n00bs eh?....can you please explain how the specifics of any OS relate to internet knowledge?

besides response times, I can't think of a damñed thing that any OS has to do with internet experience...

would you like to know what my internet experience tells me?

it tells me that you are a rotten, stinking troll that's crawled out from under his moldy rock with his 4th post in 4 years...that's one stinking post per year d00d...actually 2 posts in the year 2003, and two posts in the last 2 days...yep, yur a real winner there fella actually a real tool

I see it coming...yur gonna insult me re: my lack of memory about 98se...go ahead, make my day you mutant punk!...I have better things to do than take up precious brain space remembering bad memories of a crappy OS....

I thinkthe problem is.....................

that LW creators were just slapped and don't want to admit that they no longer support all the old versions of pro that you bought with them saying you would never have to buy again. (can of worms ,IMO). I had 4.0.8 and did everything suggested under the sun to get it to work. NADA! Then I downloaded the latest basic version and to my suprise (NOT!) it worked.

I have no problem with the $18.95 deal but it is just you like people to live up to what they sell you. I may be totally off base here but I don't think so. I will see how the new version works. The people here are nice and try to help. That is a plus to me.

BTW: I don't know crap about any type of programming. I just know 2+4 =4 and not 7. Good luck.
