Connection Issue on XP Pro Hello I am having issue connecting using Lime wire, enclosed info. My daughter has a dell D620 runing XP pro, fully updated, connecting via a wireless connection to our home network, I have tested limewire on two pc's running Vista and have no issues with connecting, all machines are running the same AVG virus and firewall software, have tried to manually enter the port, ensured the firewall allows limewire, have tried turning of the virus and firewall software and still no joy, As the other machines can connect with out issue it points to something on the XP system, im stumped, have tried using window firewall unblocking when prompted Can anyone suggest anything? not a fan of Vista withs all its memory requirements. 1. OS version? XP Pro, full updates 2. What firewalls you have?, AVG, XP fire wall turned off 3. How much ram? ,2 Gig 4. Hard Disk space available? ,100 Gig 5. Connection type?, broadband 6. router brand name & model numbers?, Netgear DG834N 7. Where are you trying to connect from, house 8. What version of LimeWire, latest 9. Who is your ISP BT Internet 10. You could try Port Forwarding the router as it has an inbuilt Nat Firewall... These are your instructions... Port Forwarding for the Netgear DG834N |
