Sudden Problem Connecting

I'm having trouble connecting to LimeWire, which I used to be able to do. I don't remember if I have been able to connect since I recently switched to using Earthlink. I'm answering all the suggested questions below. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide :)

When I click on the earthlink Icon, it begins to open, then closes. Sometimes I get a standard error messages that suggests it may be a firewall problem, but I get that message even with no firewall activated.

1. OS version? windows xp professional
2. What firewalls you have? earthlink and windows, but even with both turned off, still can't connect.
3. How much ram? 512 MB
4. Hard Disk space available? enough 20 GB
5. Connection type? cable modem, earthlink using time warner cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? rca dcm325
7. Where are you trying to connect from house
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? 4.12.14 java 2 runtime SE v1.4.2_03
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? earthlink via time warner
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? it works as you say
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. no
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. have used LW before.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? can not get that far to see.
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? not sure, it's however it was set up by the technician.

correction

I should say I have java Version 6 Update 1, I can't seem to find it on my computer, but when I go to download java at the sava site it tells me I have it. Can't seem to confirm it is installed and running though, doesn't show up in the programs and no icon as far as I can tell.
