help please??? (need more sources)

argghhh please can you help me ( a be gentle cos i am computer illertarate!!!!). i just found my limewire in the klast three days no longer works it is running on the new limewire pro beta version and it lets me search but whatever one i clicked to downlaod it just keep sayinh need more sources for all of them i can't download anything and now i haven't got a clue what to do is starting to really chaff my carrot now!!!! :bangh:

i did try the clicking on ones with less numbers to make sure its fake files but i am getting the same results for ones with just two!!!!. while i appreciate that link i am out of my depth and don't know where to look or start. it not a case of fake files but tje fact it will not download anything at all it just shows conecting for ages and then saying it needs more sources. it was working fine up to yesterday evening and now it doesn't work at all and i don't know why / please please can someone help me work this through or suggest another site cos i am stumped:blink:

i have tried everything you said and my limewrie still does not work and now i am just peed off. i get loads of searches but if you click anyone it keeps saying connecting and afta about five minutes its says need more sources for every single link!!!!! :bangh: . its frustrating and ridiculous its only been a problem in tha last 2 days and nothing anyone had suggested on various links posted anywhere works :bangh: . anyone have any idea what i can do or can you just suggest another music file sharer thats good as i have just about had it with limewire. pleas4e help me i am lost without my music

8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? LW 14.13.10, j2se runtime environment update 5.0 update 12
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? virign media
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Says "Your Test worked!"
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. new problem with user that had it for over 18mths
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes, but it has been configured so that Limewire should always be allowed to connect.

windows vista no mcafee/ no firewall. just connects and when i goto download songs well 2 mins in my internet dropps i read some other responces and post in reguards to dropped service and well i dont use any anti virus
i tired the java 6.0 and deleted it then tried the 5.0 java the java 5.0 i was able to dl 6 songs then puff no internet then had to reboot computwer to get my internet back up
i am on verizon fios never had this issue
nor do i have internet issues when just surfing or chatting
only when i use lime wire and mp3 rocket. i called hp for tech support and they said its a out side program "limewire/mp3 rocket

If this update is installed on your computer & UPnP is in use by Limewire,
Try switching to Manual Port forward using port numbers between 45000 To 65000
Both Manual Port forward No, & listening port should be set at the same number
In LimeWire, GO to Tools/Options/Advanced/Firewall Config & use Manual Port forward.

Just double check that your XP firewall is off & that your McAfee is configured to allow LW.

P.S... USE BITZI LOOKUP
when you see a file in search eg.. avi,mpg,mpeg you want
Right click/advanced/look up file with BITZI, if its not reported on leave it, till it is,
Now music, is not so easy,
The Newer they are, the more careful you must be.
The Spam company's are putting swarms of fakes on the network,
Take note of size, Songs less than 2000kb with 128kb bit rate, must be less than two minuets.

so what size SHOULD it be,
If it dos'nt have a bitrate! LEAVE it,
Scan every File before OPENING them
Don't D/L exe,rar,zip,or wma files. I am expert at using LimeWire & I don't touch them they are 99.9% viruses.
We only use these for testing anti virus programs.

P.S.. Try typing only the key words of the file, & leave out the small words (small words trigger SPAM results)

P.P.S.. Add these words to your word filter .exe .rar .zip .wma That will stop 50% of crap search results, Don't forget to apply.

To find your Word filter, Go Tools/Options/Filters/Keywords, now type word & click add, then apply.
