LimeWire is being blocked by a firewall and I don't have a firewall! I have LimeWire 4.12.11, and whenever I start it up, there is a message that pops up that says "LimeWire was unable to initialize and start. This is usually due to a firewall program blocking LimeWire's access to the internet or loopback connections on the local machine. Please allow LimeWire access to the internet and restart LimeWire." I don't have a firewall, so I'm guessing its the "loopback connections". I have absolutley no clue what that is. I am using Windows XP Professional, and I saw many problems like mine, only they had firewalls and I didn't. Please someone answer back soon. |
You probably have a Nat Firewall in your modem/router... Could you supply these details please... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...-you-post.html |
Aye, I wish I could supply that information, but this isn't my internet that I'm using, it's a friends. So, essentially what you are saying is that this has to do the the internet I am using? Also, if there wasn't a Nat Firewall, what else could it be? P.S. Thanks so much for replying! |
If you are getting that firewall message then that's what it would be... It's either a Nat Firewall or a security firewall that hasn't been configured correctly... |
