Hi Jwafford.
Try this first.

Now! Go to, START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs,
now completely remove all versions of java. Re BOOT Your computer NOW.

Now! Use this Blue Link to get "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 12" Use the off line installer, NOT the (recommended) one, 4th one down.
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5
When Download is completed. Disconnect from internet, close ALL apps & reinstall java.
If that has not fixed it Try this.
How to use Manual Port forward

Universal Plug and Play may not be working properly Due to this update. "Security Update for Windows XP (KB931261)"
Removing this update is not Recommended & could make your computer vulnerable to attack.
For more info on this update, click on this blue link.
Microsoft Security Bulletin MS07-019: Vulnerability in Universal Plug and Play Could Allow Remote Code Execution (931261)

If this update is installed on your computer & UPnP is in use by Limewire,
Try switching to Manual Port forward using port numbers between 45000 To 65000
Both Manual Port forward No, & listening port should be set at the same number
In LimeWire, GO to Tools/Options/Advanced/Firewall Config & use Manual Port forward.

If you are using a router, or modem/router to connect, that will also need configuring.
Find your router listed here, Use this blue link. & dont forget to create a static IP first, & click apply after changing each setting.

Your Servant,
Peace.

I did the deleteing of jave and reinstalling the version of specification
and that didn't work.

I tried port forwarding I forwarded to port 45025 UDP and TCP and I setup the static IP on my computer and on my router page with the port and static IP and nothing happened, Limewire is still not connecting. Please help I don't know what to do.

Jwafford Hi.

Try uninstalling (bitdefender internet security v10) then resrart your computer.
Then try Limewire again.
If that works, then you must configure bitdefender correctly, If you wish to use
it

Hi Jwafford.
I'm sorry I don't have better news for you friend,
Its looking like Windstream is most likely the cause.

your servant,
Peace.
