ver 1.7d is the last version that worked
 

Since ver 1.8, I have been unable to achieve more that a few connections. Ver. 1.7d, which I still use, is the last release that actually works. I get over 1000 connections with Limewire 1.7d, but nothing since. I am using Limewire on a Win98 machine accessing the net on high speed SDSL behind a firewall.

(continuing the original posting) And I have tried each version of Limewire since 1.7d, including the lastest ver 2.1 and 2.1.2 beta!

Maybe it helps if you increase the allowed connections?!

How high should the maximum number of connections be set? (The default is 100.)

Actually if you get bad results all the time , try lowering the number of connections .
Sounds like youre overloading your pipe ...
