Sorry, I'm not too clear about your problem...is your LW connected with all green bars? Can you search & see lots of results? Is it just that you can't download files? What happens when you try to download files?

Please give us your details.

This is a problem that i had years ago, here goes a simple easy fix for you.
Adding An Exception For The Gnutella Port
  1. Within LimeWire, go to: Tools > Options > Advanced > Firewall Config, and make a note of the listening port located in the box next to "Listen on Port"
  2. Open the settings of your security program (usually by right-clicking the system tray icon)
  3. Locate a section for adding exceptions for specific ports
  4. Add the port specified in LimeWire's settings as an exception for both UDP and TCP, incoming and outgoing (also known as opening the port).
This is one of the biggest problems people have. Basically Limewire connects, but for some reason you have to reconfigure the Gnutella port.

If that doesn't work which hopefully it did. Then here is one more simple step will definately work.

Control Panel/Network and Internet Connections/Windows Firewall/Advanced tab/Settings button beside Local Area Connections Box/Under Services Tab, click ADD/ description of service "Gnutella", "external and Internal" type in 30446/check the bubble "TCP".
After that ADD another/ everything exactly the same as previous, but this time check the bubble "UDP".
Make sure you have a check mark beside both the new "Gnutella checkboxes.

This or my first post should most definately solve your problem.
hope this works!! Good Luck

I have the same problem with the same properties but I have Windows Vista. When I went to try both of your solutions I was confused because my system is not the same. I hope you can help! Thanks. :xirokrotima:
