trouble with firewall Hi Everyone, I'm desperately hoping someone can help me. I have limewire 4.14. I've download music before with no problem. I'm running windows 98 and I don't have a firewall installed. I have Spybot and AVG only. When I go to run limewire, it gives me only one block on the connection line and says limewire has detected a firewall. I DO NOT HAVE A FIREWALL. I have uninstalled and reinstalled limewire still didn't work. Does anyone have a solution. Please contact me at xxxxxxxxx thanks Sharon - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Edited to comply with the House Rules (click here). Hi Sharon, It could be your ISP. See Here. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/open-d...filtering.html. I'm just going by your email address. Also you might want to edit that out unless you want to get a bunch of spam sent to you. Hope this helps. :D Also if you could supply us with these details, we can possibly offer more help. Thanks. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...-you-post.html |
I'm sorry. Your reply doesn't help me at all. I run windows 98, I don't know how much ram I have. I'm on high speed internet. I mostly use the sytem for e-mails and downloading music and stuff. That's about how far I use the internet. So I looked at rogers filter stuff but it really doesn't mean anything to me. On the bottom of the screen for limewire, i get the wall infront of the ball and it says limewire is detecting a firewall. I don't have a firewall on my computer. The thing that gets me is that I've used limewire in the past. I have songs in my library. I've tried disconnecting and connecting again and that still only gives me one bar lit up in the connection. Thanks again Sharon |
Use the Blue link Remoc gave you & post your details, if you still need help thank you. Peace. |

I'm on windows 98, high speed internet. Lots of memory. That's all I know about my computer Thanks Sharon |
You have probably a router (that's the box you plug in the phone jack) and that model you're using has an integrated NAT Firewall...... But unless you can tell us what model you have, we might not be able to help you any further.... Cheers FOTH :Smilywais: |
