Limewire connection problems and Vista
 

I've been looking through this forum and haven't seen anything regarding the issue I seem to be having. Namely -- I'm using Vista and am getting intermittent connection.

I've tried re-installing Limewire several times. It will work when I first open it, but seems to lose the connection the longer it's up. It will not make a connection until I restart my computer, but it seems the more I use the program, the less it connects.

Here's my info:

1. OS version: Windows Vista Home Premium
2. Firewall: McAfee (Limewire is granted full access)
3. Ram: 2046MB
4. Hard Disk space available: 386 GB
5. Connection type: broadband
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers: Actiontech DSL
7. Connect from: house
8. Version of LimeWire (LW) & Java: LimeWire 4.14.6; Java SE Runtime Environment 6
9. My ISP: AOL VR
10. Sharing the connection: No11. Brick wall: No
12. Security programs: McAfee
13. Country I'm living in: Utah, USA
Please help!

Try these fixes...
Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

Also try deleting your preference folder/s...
