Wireless signal turns off I've been using Limewire on my computer over a modem and with a wired high speed connection just fine for over 3 years. Just recently, I moved my computer and switched to a wireless connection. Everything about my network works fine until I start LimeWire and then for some reason, the wireless signal from my router turns off. The wired connections still work fine but the entire wireless signal just completely turns off until I restart the router and then, once again, if I try to use LimeWire, it shuts off. If you need any more info, please let me know. I'm somewhat computer saavy but not super hardcore. Help! |
I'm not sure whether this has something to do with it, but try the following: Go LimeWire>Tools>Options>Advanced>Performance and mark first the "Disable Ultrapeer Capabilities" and then press apply. and see whether that will change anything. If it doesn't, go back there and mark "Mojito DHT Capabilities" instead and apply again. Last but not least, if both couldn't help solving the problem, go back and mark both of them and press apply. Junior Member Tkowalski You know, you've not even bothered to say what your modem/connection is so how do you expect any kind of sensible answer? Anyway, here goes nothing, try TweakMaster, an Internet Optimiser, it may help: TweakMASTER - The Supreme Internet Optimizer Paledroses17 TweakMaster (free version) helped stabilised my son's wireless connection to my modem, so it just might help your wireless connection problems as well. Well TK As I said before about your first post in this thread, you did not say anything about your connection so TweakMaster was a shot in the dark. That said, the only other utility available that keeps your dial-up connection alive is part of Norton System Works, it called "Connection Keep Alive". However, there may be a similar free utility available on the net. Good Hunting. UK Bob |
