Moved to Connection Problems section.

First thing to try is delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.

Have you updated Java lately? Some people have had probs with the latest Java updates 1.6.0_01 & _02. Try this version instead. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version(s) before you install this one.

Oh, my God! Thank you so much, Birdy! That's all you need to do! You just need to get an up-to-date version of Java. I never tried it before because I never really got how big of a difference it made. But, trying it as (murderous) last resort, it worked. Thanks so much. You saved my sanity, good sir. XD

if you are getting 1 bar doubleclick the computer icon on your computer bottom right corner.click on network and sharing centre.when the dialouge box appears and you see view status click it then press diagnose another box appears.look for the section that says reset the local network adapter.press this and it will repair you network connection close all boxes then reopen limewire job done. hope this was helpfull
