Everytime i ask limewire to search for something it comes up with a message which reads 'Limewire is currently connecting to the network. Your search may not return any results until you are fully connected to the internet'. But the thing is, i am fully connected to the internet and it still wont work. :mad2:!!! Does anyone else have that problem and any help would be much appreciated.:xeri_ok1ani: bex1 |
You know Bex Without your equipment details we can't tell you anything, unless we have a magician as a forum member. Shark Chum |

Ride1on You saw that I asked Bex1 for computer details but yet all you did was repeat what Bex1 wrote. How do you expect to get any form of help when you say absolutely nothing about your equipment? OK Ride1on (& Bex1) Click on this link and provide the information asked for: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...tml#post235237 Once you have posted your computer and internet details the members of this forum will examine them and, if possible, provide you with suggestions you can try or a range of solutions. UK Bob |
well excuse me ukbob good luck to you. limies same on the net as it was for me at afcent |
Reply from the Limey Nerd Ride1on You are not a thinking person are you, even though I asked for system details in my first post, instead you repeat an empty question. Again, I ask you for system details so that you may get the help you want, instead you PM me and call me "Nerd" (unfortunely for you the term is not that instulting in the UK). And instead of posting your system details you call me "Limey" (again, that insult has lost its sting over time). If you are really serious about getting help you will put aside any animosity you have towards me and post your system details. Remember, I am not the only person that contributes towards this forum but, like everyone else, I need information to work with. UK Bob |
I have the same problem too I have the exact same problem as the guys above stated. Im not sure what you want to know about my computer (I am stupid when it comes to these things) But I have a mdg computer with windows xp service pack 2. I use shaw for my internet provider. And i use shaw secure for my antivirus protection. I have tried turning my firewall off and allowing the limewire to connect but neither of these work. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me in this matter. |
OK Bmxguy You have made a start but you must go to my second post in this thread and click on the link, it will take you to the list of equipment details forum members need to help solve your problem. Once you have posted your equipment details we can start working on your problem. UK Bob |
all of you have the same problem....YOU'RE FREAKING HARD HEADED MORONS WHO CAN'T ANSWER SIMPLE QUESTIONS |
You guys are funny!!! Ive managed to get my limewire working by connecting and disconnecting to my internet a few times. Thanx for the help, if it starts acting weird again i will go to the link and send you my details. p.s. 'nerd' isnt really a insult and i agree 'limey' is a bit outdated now. |

2 Attachment(s) OK Guys, Lets see what we can do. Bmxguy You say that you share the connection, are you the administrator for your modem and router? If you are, there are a few things you need to do: a) Enable UPnP and IGD (Internet Gateway Discovery and Client Control) on your Windows XP, either your modem manual or the MS site will tell you how to do this. b) Enable UPnP on Limewire. See my attached screen prints for a) and b). c) Enable UPnP on your modem and router (you can only do this if you are the administrator) d) If "block ICMP" is enabled on your modem and/or router then disable it. The object of all this is to give Windows and Limewire control over your modem (and router) and allow LW access to the internet. However, if UPnP etc. does not work then the next stage is port forwarding. Tcherryj Your problem is entirely different, we have had other apartment dwellers from the US in this forum before. It seems that the ISP for your apartment complex may have decided to throttle P2P internet connections. If this is the case then you are stuck because, and as far as I understand, you cannot change ISPs or do anything about their anti-P2P policy. However, if I am wrong (and I hope I am) get back to the forum and tell us. Well Bex1 I'm glad we can entertain you, I mean if we can't solve your problems at least we brightened your day:yahoo: And last but not least Ride1on Apology accepted and no harm done. UK Bob |
Thank you sir Thank you UKbobboy01! |
Well I found out what type of modem I have it is Cnxt 2011 D850 56K V.9x DF Modem. i don't know if that helps any but I tried forcing the port and nothing seems to work |
limewire I intstalled limewire and all it does is keep spinning around. Someone said uninstall and reinstall Jave. Does that work and how do you do it? Also I'm computer illiterate. |
I dont think I am the administrator but I know the administrator (my dad) gave me all the priveleges and stuff to do pretty much everything. So I will try what you said. I will report back tomorow or later. |
Bmxguy It may save some time if you ask your Dad for help, its possible that your Dad may know how to do all the stuff I've asked you to try. UK Bob |
