Freezing
 

Have today had the problem of Limewire freezing. It doesn't crash or not respond, according to Windows Task Manager, just freezes, at random points between trying to open digital audio access thing, and entering in the search terms.

Anyone any idea what's going on?

This problem started yesterday for me and has continued today.LW launches and then freezes solid. I am running XP home with all updates on an AMD 2400+ with 512 of pc 3200. firewall is comodo, approvals are set properly. I have 25 GB of free disc space. I redownloaded the program and reinstalled it in case a file had corrupted...Same result.... LWFreezes soild at launch. By the looks of the posts here the issue is systemic not isolated. good luck :-)

It might be java related. Try uninstalling your current version of java while LW is completely shut down. Go to the add/remove programs control panel and uninstall your current version of java. Then download and install J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 11(use the offline installer): Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11


If that fails try deleting your LW Preference folder. Instructions in this thread points 2 & 3(check both locations): Fixes for Limewire.

Freezing Fix?
 

I had the same problem starting yesterday. I checked with all my settings, did a restore from past point & nothing fixed it. I was running current java, etc.

I uninstalled Limewire and downloaded a fresh copy & installed it and it fixed it for me.

Might be worth a try for anyone else.

i tried the java fix..... no luck.i tried deleting preferences .....no luck. the launch hangs up everytime while "loading digital audio access protocal" if that tells you anything thing ~thanks
