its not connecting. the connecting status dont go up. its on the first bar. i have norton internet security 2007. window xp service pack 2. i went to internet security and allow the connection to go through. it still dont work. plz help mee. thanks.

i went to the link and followed it, still not working. i have windows xp service pack 2. my security system is norton internet security 2007 and i also have linksys wireless-G broadband router. when i open limewire its saying you r currently connecting to internet. the status bar wont go up, it stays at the first bar. then i tired port forward and that don't even work. i have no idea why its not working. pls help me.

Start off by making sure that the XP firewall's off & the Norton firewall's allowing LW. Click on the link below for info about configuring Norton.

If that doesn't fix things, you'll need to give more info. What's the model of your Linksys? There could be an issue with your Java, your ISP, where you're trying to connect from. But we don't know. Because you didn't answer the questions in the 'system details' link

I am having the exact same problem. Yet it used to work for me and still works for other users on this computer when I log off and they log on. I have tried turning off the firewall and various security settings. I downloaded the updated version. I've messed around with this thing for hours with no luck...yet as I say..others can use it when they log on. HELP
