Is LW not connected at all, or is it connected but you see the firewall icon? Please give us your details;) System details - help us to help you -> Provide these details when you post!!! |
When Limewire is connected I see the firewall icon Here is System Details Windows XP SP2 Windows Firewall but can't detect any others 40 GB Hard Drive Disc SPace 1.12 GB of RAM Verizon Fios Internet Actiontec MI424WR - Model Number - CSJA6520008155 Connecting from House Limewire Pro 4.14.8 & Java 3.2 Don't know ISP Says test worked Not sharing with other computers Not 1st try of Limewire , this is a problem i can't fixed I see a brickwall in front of the blue world at the bottom of LW's interface Using a Modem/Router UPNP framework Aren't using any security programs Live in USA |
Make sure that the XP firewall's allowing LW (info in the link below). User Cant Connect - LimeWire If that makes no difference, try port forwarding for your router. The instructions are here;) Port Forwarding for the Actiontec MI-424-WR Don't forget to set up a static IP address first, or port forwarding won't work. There's a link to static IP setup in those instructions. LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within the router should all be the same number. Is that Java 1.3.2? That's pretty old...any reason you're using that particular version? You could try using this later version. Download the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions before you install this one. Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 |
The DNS Server is the same for Alternate DNS Server so it won't let complete it on ICP properties please help |
I found these from the Port Forward Forum...;) USA, DSL, Verizon: DNS : 68.238.112.12 Secondary DNS : 68.238.96.12 PortForward Forum - Print Page |

I portforward and firewall symbol still shows and plus i get no searches on limewire on manual port |
Did you get the static IP address set up without a problem? Did you make sure that you had the same port number in both boxes on LW's firewall config page & also within the router's config pages? When you were getting no search results, was your LW fully connected to the network? I can't find any info about whether your router supports UPnP (even in the manual)...did you have UPnP enabled within the router before you port forwarded?? If you did, did you have UPnP Framework ticked within Windows firewall > exceptions? Did you also have UPnP enabled within your router & 'use UPnP' checked on LW's firewall config page? |
Yes the Static Ip wasn't a problem , I had the same number - 56000 in both pages Yes LW was truly connected to the network when i got no search results Upnp was there , I had Upnp ticked on with Windows Firewall , but I turned off Windows Firewall How to check if my router has Upnp |
