firewall, connection problems

I have used LW for a long time. But I moved almost a year ago and my computer has been in storage until a month ago. I have a new internet provider and have tried to get into LW but I have the Globe with the brick wall up in front of it... and keep getting messags about not being fulling connected. my connection activity is on the smallest bar or all red.I have windows xp and i don't understand or know how to get the rest of the info requested. I have mcafee set up on my computer but i have allowed limewire full access. And still can not connect. There is no other anti virus protection on my computer. help if you can.... thanks!

Did you update Java around the time that LW's connection failed? Try this version instead. Download the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version before you install this one.
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

Have you always been able to use LW at work? If the port 6346 test doesn't work, something's blocking LW's default port. Talk to whoever's in charge of the internet there...find out whether there's been a change in the setup.

Lots of businesses won't allow p2p use...you need to be sure that your employers allow you to use LW while at work;)

Mystic Druid,

You didn't answer my question...have you been able to use LW at work before? Did you ask if you're allowed to use p2p at work? If using p2p's allowed, whoever's in charge of the internet there will be able to help you with allowing LW through firewalls etc.

jjmidnight,

I don't know a thing about your setup, so how can I help you??

You may have tried this but it worked on both my computers with the same problem
Under (Options - Advances - Firewall Config) Try Manual Port Forward to 28
Under performance I also disabled all three options
Good luck
