One green connection bar

I have been having downloading problems too. Limewire won't connect to the internet. Only one bar turns green and the rest are red. :laugh_2: :xeri_ok1ani:

Yours is a connection problem:p
Use the forum search to look through older threads (try searching for connection problem, no connection, won't connect, not connecting - things like that). You'll find heaps of info & fixes to try! If nothing helps, please post your system details & tell us what fixes you've tried.

I've had this same problem. I just downloaded the newest version of limewire onto my new laptop. I have a wireless connection through AT&T Yahoo and limewire works perfectly on the home computer, but when I load it up on my laptop, I only get the one bar of connection, meaning I can't download anything. And if I try to use the internet while its running, I can't connect. I checked the firewall on my computer. I have Windows Firewall and McAffee. I turned off McAfee's completely and deleted and re-added limewire to the list of exceptions for my Windows Firewall. I still can't get a connection. This is with the newest version 4.14.8 I'm fairly literate on computer information so if anyone knows anything about this problem and how it may be fixed, I would greatly appreciate it. I searched through this forum and couldnt find anything quite like the problem I'm having. Thanks for your time

I have a laptop and have recently 'gone wireless' and since then I only get one green bar when connecting to Limewire. I also have a globe with a brick wall in front of it. I have Windows Firewall and TalkTalk firewall and a firewall came with the Netgear wireless router, which I have set to 'allow always' for inbound and outbound traffic because the other firewalls are running anyway, but I just can't connect to Limewire any more!! I have never had a problem before in over two years. Please help me!

Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) But make a note of all your settings because once you restart LW, you will need to reset all options, & LW will create a fresh set of Preferences. ;)

If still no good, check Point #1 in above link about downgrading Java & how to do. :)
