Limewire only has 1 small green bar!

Whenever i bring up limewire, only the smallest bar is green. Then, when i try to search for anything the timing eventually runs out with nothing being found. I have no idea what to do, so any suggestions would be great. :(

wondering why September 24th, 2007 01:28 PM

Your not connected to the network, so you won't receive any search results...
Could you post these details please...

1. When updating Nortn or LW, Norton needs to be reset. See Reconfiguring Norton Firewall. Also make sure your XP firewall is turned off.

Is still not connect then ->

2. Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

2. See OSX Firewall settings for Tiger which is almost identical instructions to Panther. I personally keep my osx firewall turned off but at work, you may be best to keep it active. 10. The port LW is trying to connect thru is blocked. It will most likely be blocked by your network at work. How to get around it is the question. One is to ask the network manager to open port 6346. Else, try to see if any other ports are open. Manual port forward instructions & sample image & try changing the port to one between 49152 - 65535; a good one to try is 64049. Others to try are 1203, 10000, 80, 443, 427. You'd be best to temporarily disable your OSX firewall whilst testing out those ports to see if they connect with LW. If they do, then change LW's port setting in OSX's firewall to the one that works.
