Only one bar when trying to connect hey...my friend (who has limewire) just installed it for me and everytime I try to connect it only has one bar...and he doesn't know how to fix it...and I'm lost. Please help me :confused: |
Hello. Sorry I can't help. But the same thing is happening to me. I suspect it has something to do with the modem settings. But i am as thick as the offspring of the village idiot and tv weather girl when it comes to computers. But am sure someone more adept will post something soon. |

1. OS version? Windows XP 2. What firewalls you have? Windows 3. How much ram? 4. Hard Disk space available? 18.9 GB 5. Connection type? cable/dsl...dont know the difference. 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?...not sure 7. Where are you trying to connect from my house 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LimeWire: 4.14.10 Java: 1.6.0_02 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? NCW 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? it said: Internet Explorer Cannot Display Webpage 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? no 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. 1st try with unexperienced user =/ 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yes 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? N/A 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? idk 16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). USA |
OK, you state that you have a firewall #13. Now we have to have the model# and make of your router/modem. If you look on the bottom of the equipment you should find that info. Also we have to know what security program you are using. Thanks, Remoc |
we dont have a router/modem. and i'm pretty sure we use webroot |
