You mean that LW isn't opening at all? Try the following:

What version of Java are you using? Try this version. Download the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions before you install this one.
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

If that doesn't help, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.
In case you're using Vista: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html

Change compatibility (point 5 in the 'fixes' thread). If you're using XP, try compatibility mode for Win 2000 or NT. If you're using Vista, try compatibility mode for XP.

Hello everyone....
I just want to know if LimeWire Turbo is for real?
I'm using LimeWire Pro currently and i got the LimeWire Turbo installer from a friend...
The thing is my antivirus programme (Avira AntiVir Premium Security Suite) detects it as a virus or unwanted programme...i've ignored the notification and proceed install the software, however it does not automatically uninstall my LimeWire Pro as LimeWire's softwares usually does...
I run the two install programme simultaneously then, and the LimeWire Pro works as usual at turbo charged connection but LimeWire Turbo doesn't work at all, it keeps on shows the starting connection icon...
So, is Limewire Turbo is also an official product of LimeWire or it is just a counterfeit?
Please, i really need to hear views from all of you soon...
Thanks & best regards...

If Avira's picking it as suspicious then I'd get rid of it. There are only 2 versions of LW available from the official site...the free basic version & LW Pro ($24.95 for 6 months, $34.95 for a year). The only official site is Lime Wire » Official Website & Free Download, BitTorrent «

Who knows where that 'turbo' version came from or what malware it might contain?? After you remove it, scan your computer...just to be sure that there wasn't anything nasty left behind.
