LimeWire won't stay open for me
 

I downloaded the 4.14 version today and I tried to get into it after I went through the settings. It stayed open for about 3 seconds before it closed. So down by my clock in the left of my screen, there is a row of just random stuff that i have running. LimeWire was one of them down there so I went to click on it and the icon disappeared and did not reappear when I clicked expand. So I tried to get into it again, the same thing. Then I got rid of LimeWire and then put it back on my computer hoping that would fix the problem. It didn't. So I read what other people were having trouble with and no one else seems to be having this same problem. I tried some of their suggestions anyways but none of them have worked :bangh: and it's kinda making me mad so can someone help please?:shoot:

Thanks for the link. None of them worked though. Do you (or anyone else if they feel like contributing) have any more suggestions?

did you try uninstalling all virsions of java then installing the JRE 5.11 from the offline installer?

i can't figure out how to uninstall java. i can't find it anywhere i look and i can't find the one that everyone says works. there was a link in the link that you gave me but it directs to a page that doesn't have the right java. and if it is the right java then there's two different java's and i don't know which to install.

ha!! i found it. kinda. i found it in the control panel anyways. and it is the right link. but i can't figure out ow to uninstall it still. and i do have the version 6 or what ever it is that won't work with limewire.

go to control panel/add or remove programs and then install the 5.0 update 11 click the one at the bottom then on next page click Accept license the next page click windows offline installation.
