Limewire unable to initialize and start!!! XD

ive just installed the latest version of LW and now everytime i try to open it i get the message:

'Limewire unable to initialize and start. This is usually doe to a Firewall program blocking Limewire's acces to the internet or loopback connections on the local machine. Please allow Limewire to acces the internet and restart Limewire.'

i have no idea what this means. my firewall is off and even if it wasnt Limewire is on my Exceptions list. so im at a loss as to what to do.
please help!

p.s. if it helps, my computer is a Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition 2002

Try these fixes...
Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder/s...This will reset your configurations back to default and get rid of any corruption that may of happened...;)

Modem-Router

Asian1

You probably don't know this but your modem-router has a built-in firewall and it is this "built-in firewall" that LimeWire is reacting to.

What this means is that you will have to port-forward your modem-router in order to get LimeWire to work normally. OK, so you will have to get your modem-router's model number because that is the only way you can be directed to the proper instructions to solve your problem.

If you click on the URL below you will be on the website withe the "port forwarding" instructions.

PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall

However, you will see that this site has instructions for loads of routers and modems, that is why you need your router's (or modem/router's) model number so that you can choose the correct instructions.

Good Luck.
