Hi all,

Apologies if this is the wrong thread. I am a new user of LW basic, as of yesterday. All was good, dowloaded and started downloading files. I have tried again this evening after work and I notice that LW has detected a firewall and I am unable to connect.

I dont understand and need some help please!

Hi, I am eagerly awaiting a reply to your question also as the very same thing has happened to me. Yesterday everything fine today no connection and a firewall present. Im hoping it to be a temporary glitch with limewire. I did have am automatic windows download last night but Im pretty sure it did not install. Thought this may be part of the problem. checked all firewalls but no change from what it was before? Would also appreciate some help. thanks. :idea:

i use too use lime wire all the time when i had dsl and now since ive switched to satelite internet i cant get a connection because of a fire wall its driving me nuts!!!!! if any one can help please email me @ *********

LW Firewall Fix
 

Hi!

I had a frustrating problem with a firewall on LW. All I did was click on the following link as instructed and the firewall was removed!

Elifino, not sure why the fix didn't work for you...

If you're using Windows... did you make limewire an 'exception' by going to 'control panel', then 'windows firewall', then click on 'exceptions' and make sure the limewire box is checked as an execption...

Maybe you could ask 'birdy' (see the post below) or you could even try Googling the question.

There's a fix out there somewhere.

all the site is showing is a bar that shows the bottom left corner of the limewire screen, when a firewall is detected. Is this normal
