I have reinstalled limewire like 5 times my firewall is not on norton is not on i have tried that tools options tick thing limewire is and exception i only ave one green bar and it says its still tryin to connect and when i try to download a song it say's limewire is still connecting no results coming back any elp will be appreciated thnx:mad::Smilywais::Smilywais::welcomeani::whistl ing:

Let's take a closer look at your set up then. :) System details - help us to help you (click on blue link)
My guess is the firewall issue is your modem/router. Remember Windows XP has its own firewall.

1. OS version? windows xp
2. What firewalls you have? uhm regular windows i guess
3. How much ram?enough
4. Hard Disk space available?yeah a lot
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) dsl or brandband
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)?apt i guess
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? LW 4.14 java 1.6
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? at&t
10. The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? it says it worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? no
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.new prob had lw for a while
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yes there is
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled?what uhm its wireless
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? i have norton
16. What country are you living in? USA

ah ok you have a wireless device. Almost ALL wireless devices have NAT firewalls. So you will need to find out what brand & model it is. Take a look at where the connections come from behind the computer. See if you can find the modem/router box & find some labels on it ... possibly on top or side or bottom.
