Help me Please!! (no connection) Yes, I am currently having problems connecting to limewire, and I cant figure out whats wrong, Im going insane. 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Windows XP 2. What firewalls you have? Norton 3. How much ram? idk 4. Hard Disk space available? plenty 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) comcast(cable) 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Linksys 7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? House 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. Newest version 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Comcast 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It works 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. I have 4 computers on same router. Other linksys work for those, but not this computer 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. This is a new problem 13. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall :) Spysweeper and norton 16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). USA I deleted the .limewire folder. I disabled the tips thing I took off the auto connect thing I desabled windows firewall and put limewire as an exception for norton I really dont know what to do. Please help me!!:confused: |
Could possibly be the linksys router. Need model #. Look under the box. Also might help to know what version Jave you have. |
WRT54G version 2 is the router. WUSB54G version 2 is the adapter I have an older version of java b/c when I try to dload the new ones it says that " this installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package still exists and that you can access it." any ideas? |
Not sure if you have tried this. See Link below. Port Forwarding for the Linksys WRT54G Have you tried to uninstall ALL Versions of Java from Add/Remove Programs?? You need to REMOVE ALL before new install of Java. |
ughhh Did not work either. any other ideas Benn over a week, cant figure this stuff out, so annoying |
