First of all, you do not connect to LW wirelessley, you connect to the internet wirelessly.

LW does not care what type of Internet connection you have, all it wants is that you HAVE a connection.

Connecting to limewire wireless

Hi there i am kind of in the same situation at hand, iv just recently bought a mac, and installed limewire on it. I conect to the internet on the mac wirelessly, using the router for my pc.

Now, in the set up steps, i am asked to choose a connection speed, which one do i choose for wireless on mac's

An secondly when i try to search, it still says its "currently trying to connect to the network", so what im i supposed to do to get a connection?..

Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you.

For "connection speed" try this link:

You haven't said what router you have but if you find the name and model no. you can Port Forward it.

Hi

Hi there, i went to the port forwarding site, but i quickly realised that it was trying to fix the problem through the router. I just realised that i explained the situation a little wrong, i am just getting used to working macs you see.

My mac is connecting to my main Pc's router through an air-port wireless connection. The router that my main Pc is using is a Netgear DG834GT. so how do i go about this dilema of making limewire work on my mac please.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks.

Junior.

Hi MM

First, let me say that I am not a Mac user, I use a PC but the principle of port forwarding is the same for both computers.

That said, I think what you have told me is that your PC is the administrator for your router while your Mac is the client. Therefore, what you will have to do is set up Limewire as an application assigned to your Mac and then perform the "Port Forwarding" configuration. This will tell your router that whenever you are using LW on your Mac port forward the connection.

Unfortunately, you will have to go through your router manual on how to assign applications to a client computer, I had to go through the same thing when attaching my son's PC wirelessly to my modem/router but I use the SpeedTouch 585 (v6).

And finally, don't forget to save your settings to your HD.
