Inconsistent connection

1. Windows XP Home '02 / Service Pack 2
2. Windows Firewall
3. 512MB Ram (eww)
4. Roughly 13Gb Hard Disk Space
5. Cable Internet - Time Warner Cable / Roadrunner. It's wireless but I'm running off the base computer at my house in USA.
6. I'm not sure about the modem/router but I suspect the problem may have something to do with this since it's new. I didn't notice before because this is my mother's house and I am not responsible for that sort of thing.
7. Limewire v4.14.10, Java 1.6.0_03
8. 'Your test worked!'
9. Using AVG v7.5.503 Free Edition
10. Been using Limewire for years, I have never had this problem until recently. I was able to bring up search results, and I was able to download while the connection was at one bar and all the connections said connecting, but I'm currently not able to and had the same problem before I was able to download.
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? Uhm I wish I knew.
Oh and now that I went through all the trouble of typing this up and registering my connection is mysteriously at 5 bars. Strange. Please help.

Might need to Portforward the router/modem. Flip the router over and you will find the model #.

Need that make and model # to help you out, hopefully?? :D

Router info

I'm not sure exactly what you need but the back of the router says:
Under the cable WAN/LAN RF MAC address barcodes;

S/N: 1019400D7517 DC: 070606

Then there is a barcode which says;

F9MHJKJ
U10C0194OLF
42007441-02

Then there is an FCC label that says contains FCC ID:

QDS - BRCM1016.

That's basically everything on there. If that helps or not please let me know.

What Kind or Brand is the Router?? Then Look For Model #.

The Serial # and the Barcode #'s are No Help.

If you still have the Box the Router came in, should have the Make and Model #.

Router

This was a router provided by the cable company, so I don't have a box, and it doesn't say a brand on it. I guess I would have to call them to find out that info.
