Try Port Forwarding, this way it will open up a port for limewire to pass through the Nat Firewall...
These are your instructions...

Hi Gatti...
Try these fixes and see if they help...
Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder/s...This will reset your configurations back to default and get rid of any corruption that may of happened...
Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should

Still no luck try removing and replacing the gnutella folder...
Birdy has the tips on how to do this in this Sticky..
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-fix-try.html

If none of the above are successful we will look into your modem/router and ISP...

BIRDY/

1. Got to the Listening on port on firewall config. page......51279 already in place & added same number into manual port that was 6346, Is that Ok? (said between 10000& 60000) It was already there & so I matched them.

2. Got confused on Staic IP address & IP address. Where do I find the guide?
Have no idea about this page at all. I am really sorry I am so incompetent.

3. Typed in the 182.168.62.1 into address bar ......but then how do I save it? Never made it to the enter network password page..........am I an idiot or what? I'm not ver good at this. Sorry.

Thanks, RALPH

Hi Ralph...
You have done the right thing for the manual port forward box and the listening port box, the number 51279 should be fine...

Here is the static IP set up instructions, this part is very important, if this doesn't go right it wont work...
PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall

When you type in 192.168.1.254 into the address bar of your browser you should get your log in page to your modem/router, you don't need to save it...
If you continue to have problems with the log in, contact your ISP and ask them for the log in details....

ps...I'm actually WW not birdy...

Default WW/

My DNS Servers both have the same numbers......when I try to type it in on TCP/IP Properties it tells me they can't be the same?!
Can I change one somehow??
Thanks,
RALPH

EDIT.
I read wrong, sorry, went all the way thru, added all the IP's, gateway,DNS & Static...NOTHING AGAIN.
Uninstalled Limewire & reloaded, good exception with the AVG & security firewall , still NOTHING!
I'm really bummed out over this. Anything else I can do over?
Thank You.
RALPH

Did you put your chosen port number in both the maunual port forward and the listen port boxes in limewire ?? Make sure you also click on the apply tab....

Also did you appy the same number for the TCP and the UDP ??

If you did try changing the port number to 64049, you will have to also change the number in your modem/router as well...
