can't connectfirst time tried everything help

Hello, everyone. First time user.
Error........ Limewire is currently connecting to network.
Windows Xp, DSL,
Tried all the firewall solutions still the same problem. When you search for anything. I get the same message. I have one small green bar in bottom left and a wall on the globe.

ummm how do i put a a skin on limewire??

i have tried to grt limewire up but keep getting trying to connect and have brick wall up in front of globe...i have turned off fire walls but to no avail..any suggestions. please any would be greatly appreicated

Rather than turning off all firewalls, make sure that you're only using 1 software firewall (more than 1 will cause problems) & that LW's being allowed through it.

Try the advice here: all of a sudden will not connect (a fix to try)
Start off by deleting LW's preferences folder & changing Java versions.
You'll know if you've deleted the preferences folder properly...when you start LW, you'll go through the setup wizard again & all the settings within LW's options will have changed.
