Good Afternoon:

Hello to everyone in the community.

:bangh: I just sen an e-mail too tech support. I am serious problems about getting connected to LimeWire. I was spam by MP3MusicHQ and paid for the service and the program worked/ Unfortunately when I purchased the service from LimeWire I just cannot get connected and I have re-loaded Pro and Java but no success and have listed the port to my firewall.

Please help and I am still awaiting response from my e-mail. Is there something wrong with the download software.

Can't get connected

I've been a subscriber to Limewire for the last 4 or so years, and I am having trouble getting connected, also. This has been going on about a week. I figured I was being blocked because my subscription ran out, so I upped to Pro. My security center approves my exception to Limewire, but when I click on the site it shows the firewall blocking the connection. What's up?

I'm feeling like I got conned into this.:mad2:

More specifics regarding my problem

Pt. 2: Can't connect...
I'm an experienced LW user (4 yrs?).
I have a home Dell pc (71.6 GB Total; 38.4 free space)/ Windows XP.
Just purchased LW 4.14.10 Pro today (sorry to say).
Just downloaded Java 1.5.0_09
I'm on cable/Comcast.
I'm on McAfee security/firewall (newly installed).
I passed the "simple test".
I live in the US.
I'm not sharing the connection with other computers.
Yes, a brick wall is in front of the icon.:bangh:

I hope this gives you enough detail. As I said above, this problem started a week ago w/ my old LW. I look forward to getting this settled. I've wasted far too much time trying to solve this problem.

Follow-up to problem

Hi,

My problem has mysteriously been solved. Yesterday, after failing to get connected to LW for the last week, suddenly the firewall disappeared and I could begin searching the files. Do you have any idea why, how this got resolved in case future issues pop up again?

Thanks for an RSVP.

Lou88888888 November 19th, 2007 01:52 PM

I am dumber then a brick.

I am willing to pay someone to talk me through the steps.

For a week, I have been going through what needs to be done.

I think it could be my firewall.

I have a dell computer
I am running on windows xp

I have been using Limewire for about 1 year then is stopped working.

My experience is the same as everyone here. No connection.

I went from Java 1.5 that did not work. to java 6.3 the jre jdk versions. still no connection.

Is someone will to call me to offer me help?

I will even pay.

It makes it sound like it's an ISP issue...maybe some of the ISP's are randomly blocking connections  Who knows !!
If none of the fixes that have been already listed in this thread are working the only thing I can think of is that you have either used up to much bandwidth for the month or it's random shaping...

Just check your ISP's Fair Use Policy, google your ISP and go through the fine print of your contract...
