It's not clear what you are asking? Take a moment then re-write your query. UK Bob PS. To get the maximum help, remember write in plain simple English. |

connection problems Hi there! I just installed the newer version on my computer of LW because my last version stopped allowing me to download any songs and it was freezing my computer so I uninstalled that version. However, I continue to have problems with this version of LW allowing me to connect. I have one tower of connection. I have turned off my Symantec Antivirus program for the time being as well as followed the information on checking several of the problems. I did attempt to reset the preferences folder but when I was following the directions I did not have a followed labeled Limewire to delete. However, it did down load to my computer and I was able to download the gnutella.net link. I'm not sure if I just missed a simple step or not. I'm not really good with computers and I was confused by some of the information. Any help would be wonderful because I am kinda stuck :( Thanks for anything!! |
Which OS are you using? Did you make sure to show hidden files & folders first, before trying to replace the gnutella.net file or delete your preferences folder? If you haven't shown hidden files & folders, you won't be able to see Application Data or the LimeWire (preferences) folder within that. There are instructions about how to show hidden files & folders within the link in my post #7:) I tried to make that info as easy to follow as possible...just go through the steps again slowly. If you've used really old versions of LW in the past, remember to look for a preferences folder in the old location (in case you have 2 preferences folders). If you're still stuck, please post back with your system details...http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...tml#post298705 has all the info about what details we need. |
