![]() I have again uninstalled and reinstalled Limewire but still have the same problem. I have a new preferences folder that has loaded and the old preferences are gone as before. I think I have the new Gnutella file in the right place. Any suggestions? This has just come from out of nowhere. Everything has worked great for almost two years. I don't get it. The only thing I've done within the past week has tried to burn a CD and had to make a playlist a couple of times to make sure I had it right but I never did burn the CD 'cause I wanted to add a few more songs but I'm not able to do it now cause I can't download anything. Arghhhhhhhhh! |

![]() Helloooooooooooooooo..........can anyone help please? I've tried everything that I've read on here. Still showing a firewall. I even removed Limewire and installed Frostwire but it did the same thing. Reinstalled Limewire. Called AT&T and they said that they do not block P2P. Any ideas? Thanks. |

![]() kbkids You know, it's kinda hard to get a handle on your equipment because you are having difficulty describing what you have actually got, but let's give it a try. 1) I presume that you have never dragmented your hard disk, this is one essential maintenance tip that every windows user should do at least once every two or so months. Regular Limewire/Frostwire users should defrag every month. 2) Most, if not all, modem/routers have a built in firewall, your LW & FW could be detecting this. In the first instance you should insure that UPnP is activated in Windows, LW/FW and your modem and if you use a separate router then port forward it. Although the following link instucts you how to enable IDGC it also shows you how to enable UPnP as well How to enable IDGC on WinXP SP2. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...tml#post292985 Port forwarding routers PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall I think the above is enough for now, let us know how you get on. ![]() Thanks Bob I'll check what you posted. What I have is a firewall icon that stays even if I shut down both Windows and Norton (windows normally stays off) firewalls. Limewire has worked about flawlessly for nearly two years and then this just comes from nowhere. Norton never gave me any trouble before and it doesn't appear to be the problem now. I think a defrag has been done recently. I'll post and let you know what happens. Thanks so much for the response! |

![]() I had the same problem the last couple of days and fixed it by going into the limewire folder (in my computer its found here) C:\Documents and Settings\Username\limewire -- I deleted the gnutella.net file -- downloaded a new gnutella.net.net file (here)which I pasted into the limewire folder. Restarted my limewire and once again it didn't connect so I renamed the gnutella.net.net file that I pasted into my limewire folder gnutella.net -- restarted my limewire and after 30 secs up she came with an excellent connection -- HOPE THIS HELPS -- please let us know Thanx
