Go to START menu/ MY Computer/ Documents and Settings/ Click on user name (example: John Doe). You will see the LW folder / delete it.

Then Start up LW.

A "tip of the day" pop up box will appear.

Disable/unmark the box in the corner.

Then head up to TOOLS / Advanced/ System Start up/ disable or unmark the box in the corner.

Then restart LW. This should work for XP. If not, This is all the info I can give you that worked for me. This pop-up box is preventing the system from connecting, so it needs to be disabled. Good luck!

Thanks for trying to help you 've got good intentions but my dear friend .... I followed your path to the dot and the LW PReferences folder is no where to be found....

Besides following the path that you pointed out... which takes me to the good 'ol "My Documents" I tried searching for any file that may contain "LW" and also any file that may contain "Preferences" none of the search results showed LW Preferences.

If someone knows how to seek, destroy and evaporate this file from the computer... it be great!
