Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network.
(not about connecting to files, that is a Download/Upload Problems section issue.) Please supply system details as described in the forum rules.

![]() First off i want to say, i've read evey sticky and tried every little tip out there. 1. OS version? Vista 2. What firewalls you have? Windows Firewall (I've already made sure it was disabled for this program) 3. How much ram? 2GB 4. Hard Disk space available? Over 60 GB 5. Connection type? Broadband, Wireless router 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Linksys WRT54G (Yes, UPnP is enabled on both ends) 7. Where are you trying to connect from? Private Home. 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? LW 4.15.0 Java 1.6.0_03 and i've tired updating Java 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Time Warner 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Worked Perfect 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? No 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user? I had LW with my older XP computer and it worked great loved the application, i wouldn't i'm an expert but i was pretty good at it. When i got my new HP with Vista it stopped working 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yes i have a firewall 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? Yes its enabled so it the option on LW 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Window Live Care One (keep in mind i have the same application on my XP machine and it ran great) 16. What country are you living in? USA. So there is all the information could possible need to assist me with this. I've tired every sticky i can get my hand on. The only difference between this computer and my old are. XP operating system old, Vista New, and i also changed the secerity on my router for Vista from WEP to WPA Personal. Other then that i'm running the same set up as b4. Anyone have any ideas why I can't connect? Thanks. |
