Fire wall blocking...or loop back Nag

1. OS version? (Vista)
2. What firewalls you have? Zone alarm
3. How much ram? 1Gig
4. Hard Disk space available? 232
5. Connection type? (, broadband, )
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?Speed Stream 6520
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home)?
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (4.14.12) JAVA 6 UPDATE 3
9. Who is your ISP provider (Aliant)?
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? it worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. yes 2 computers going from this same modem the other one has xp and there is no problems with lime wire this one has vista and I get the Lime wire cannot start because loop back or a firewall blocking limewire..etc nag. I have asked for help here before some months ago and I was not successful in conquering Vista
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. I used lime wire when I had xp on another(older) comp.with no problems
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? I cannot get that far...I know it is not likely a easy fix but I would appreciate the help and thank you in advance for your time time.

Some Vista users have fixed their connection problem by uninstalling both LW & ZA, then reinstalling LW first & finally reinstalling ZA. Don't uninstall LW via Add/Remove programs (or the Vista equivalent), uninstall from start > all programs > limewire > use the uninstaller there.

Did you also remember to change the number in the 'manual port forward' box (within LW's advanced > firewall config) to match LW's listening port & port forwarded within the router setup?

Hey Bud I tried your first suggestion about the uninstall and the re install of lime wire and Za ..no go
How Do I do the second ,,when I can not get lime wire to start ... all it gives is the nag about fire wall and loop back... and that is as far as it gets.

Well I guess that ..pretty wells sums up LW.It is obvious that Vista is not very compatible with LW
