America Thanks, Jason |
See whether any of the fixes here help. If LW Will Not Connect If nothing there works, you'll see a link in that thread for posting system details...post those here. When you set up port forwarding, did you use the instructions here? Port Forwarding for the Westell 6100 LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within the router's setup pages should all be the same number;) |
Yeah Birdy I tried all that. I did also use that site to set up my westell 6100 modem/router. There is a built in router and that may have something to do with it. I have a static IP, port forwarding, and my firewall is accepting the program (LW). All my computer information is above here. I hope someone can help. Dang thing is driving me nutz Thanks, Jason |
Aaahhh, sorry about asking for your system details again...I copied/pasted part of my reply & forgot to remove the system details bit:giggle: Did you remove any other Java versions installed on your computer, so that the only version you have is 1.6.0_03? If you're sure that you did the replacing of gnutella.net properly (with LW completely closed), try changing ports. In LW tools > options > advanced > firewall config, change LW's listening port to 65000 (or you can also try other ports in the range of 49152 - 65535). Change the port in the 'manual port forward' box to that same number > apply > ok. You'll need to go back into your router's config pages & change your forwarded port to the new number as well. |
After 3 days of messing with my connection problem, the one that fixed it for me was adding the gnutella.net file to c://documents and settings/(your computer name)/application data/limewire folder. Rick |
Will not connect or download I was trying to down load a song and under the status bar it says "Awaiting Sources". So I tried to resume download and the same thing happens. |
I don't know if this will help or not and I understand your frustration. I downloaded LimeWirePro in August. It worked fine for a couple of months, then the bar wouldn't go past one. I followed the directions to allow by Norton, didn't help - then I did what the sticky note post said to do (download gnutella and put in a LW folder) and that worked! I didn't think so at first, but I restarted my computer and now have a turbo connection! It's my lucky day, hope it turns out to be yours, too. |
It seems I am connected now but I get VERY few search results...Any suggestions? |
No, sorry. Like I said mine is working great now. It's pretty confusing to me, put to try to retrace my steps: First I updated to the newest versions of LW and Java. I added allow Limewire to Norton - also added also the LW port number within Norton. Then, I did the gnutella file thing like the post said. Restarted my computer and LW and have been Turboconnected ever since. I still have the brick wall in front of the earth on LW, but I guess just to show I have a firewall. Sorry I'm not more help - Good luck! |
