No Connections at all. Please help.

I'm unable to connect to the network and my Connections tab remains blank. It doesn't even attempt to connect anywhere.

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Windows XP SP2
2. What firewalls you have? SonicWall SOHO3, no Windows Firewall
3. How much ram? 512MB
4. Hard Disk space available? 37GB
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Motorola Surfboard SB4200
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? Home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 4.13.4 and Java 1.6.0_03
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Timewarner Roadrunner
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Works.
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. Few other devices behind NAT firewall
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. Worked a few months ago with Limewire on a Mac and Kazaa and Limewire worked about a year ago on this PC.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? _ click here to see Sample image Yes
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? Port Forwarding 22610 (the same way I do for remote desktop, which works just fine)
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall :) McAfee AntiVirus, SpyBot-SD Resident
16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). United States

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Jason

Jason: Look in the thread above yours titled 'another one that can't connect' There is another thread titled 'Vista problems?'. You will find a success story there. Make written notes of the things that worked, or print them out. Keep plugging away. It has taken me four days to solve it. Regards Bryan. PS: It is vital that you clean out any files via the Limewire uninstall program file. Do NOT uninstall via the Windows program.

Can you send a link to the threads? There are so many I couldn't find them. Search didn't work.

I uninstalled via the LimeWire Uninstall and then reinstalled. No good.

I used to get connection attempts on the Connection Tab, now it just stays completely blank.

I removed all switches and connected my PC directly to my cable modem. Still no connections in that window and it still shows a firewall (world with a brick wall) icon. Where else can I look on my PC for something causing trouble?

Thanks!

I found this page FrostWire.com » Official Website & Free Download, BitTorrent « and downloaded a fresh gnutella.net ... mine was empty from the getgo, no wonder it didn't work. It's working fine now!

Thanks

Lakee911. I am delighted that you have solved the problem. It is the first time that I have taken my courage in both hands and offered technical advice to anyone.
Regards Bryan
