 done all thats said still not working 1. OS version? Windows Vista Home Edition 2. What firewalls you have? Zone alarm 3. How much ram? 2.044gig 4. Hard Disk space available? 2.5gig 5. Connection type? Cable: ive got 20meg virgin media. 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? errm netgear router and Surfbored SB4100 cable modem 7. Where are you trying to connect from: my study - uk 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? newist versions 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Virgin 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? worked 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. on the wireless in the house i have 1 vista 1xp - both with limewire good, and this through a modem 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. new problem when i got my new pc 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yup 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? i believe so 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? I have zone alarm firewall and AVG free antivirus 16. What country are you living in? England theres my info help?  |

| HELP ME PLEASE!!!!! for the past WEEK ive done near eveything that everyone has suggested to get LW connecting, but no joy :-( Ive used LW for years then suddenly a week ago the connection lights stay at one bar and thats it!! Below are my attempts in rectifying this pain in my ****... 1) ive uninstalled and reinstalled. 2) ive uninstalled java and got the 1.5 no joy so went back to 1.6 3) turned off windows and norton fiewalls 4) ive gone back to wired as apposed to wireless 5) ive bounced my laptop off the floor a few times to help fix but no joy HELP PLEASE!! If you live close ill buy you a drink!! |
