Can't Get Limewire To Connect

I've had limewire and it's worked pretty good for years. It used to kill my internet connection after having it for months at a time though, so I'd have to uninstall and reinstall it, but it wasn't that big a deal.

A few weeks ago I downloaded a virus a major virus and had to restore my computer back to manufacturor settings. I've never had a problem with a firewall blocking limewire before, but all of sudden now there's the brick symbol and only the first bar loads.

1. OS version?
Windows XP

2. What firewalls you have?
McAfee, but it's enabled for limewire acsess and I unistalled it to see if that was the problem and it still didn't work.

3. How much ram?
512mb

4. Hard Disk space available?
26gb

5. Connection type?
broadband

6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
Modem: Com3 - 3CR29220

7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)?
House

8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
4.16

9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)?
Comcast

10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?
It says "your test worked"

11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
No

12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.
New problem

13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?
Yes

14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled?
???

15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...lies/smile.gif
McAfee

16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland).
USA

Please help?!?

If you're using Mcafee, make sure that the XP firewall's turned off.

It doesn't look like your modem has a firewall...do you have a router as well?

Try replacing your gnutella.net file, deleting LW's preferences folder & updating Java (you can also try an older Java version if you like). The thread below has more info.
If LW Will Not Connect

If that doesn't help, you can also try changing ports. In LW tools > options > advanced > firewall config. Change LW's listening port to something in the range of 49152 - 65535 (eg 65000) > apply > ok.
