![]() Hi I need some help please!!! ![]() I purchased LW pro yesterday and downloaded it. It won't connect. I have read all I can and tried everything I can understand I am no computer expert but can find my way around and follow directions, if they are pretty simple lol. I have tried removing the preference folder allowing windows firewall exception removed java uninstalled LW and then reinstalled Tried quite alot of other things that I read over a 4-5 hour period. Don't remember everything I tried and not sure if I did it right. Questions on my part include, how can I tell if my modem is causing a firewall problem How can I tell whether I have UPnP set up? Is my problem with a firewall - indicated by the firewall picture at bottom left of LW screen? Thank You SO MUCH for any help!!!! 1. OS version? Win XP SP2 2. What firewalls you have? Windows Firewall... I have set LW as an exception I don't know if my modem has a firewall. I use AVG Free edition, I don't think there is a firewall involved with that? 3. How much ram? 750 ...I know not much but I don't do gaming or run any heavy programs. 4. Hard Disk space available? 30G 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) BellSouth DSL 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Modem Name WireSpeed Dual Connect Model B90-220030-04 Serial 03B412234438 7. Where are you trying to connect from Home 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? Limewire 4.16.1 Pro Java 1.6.0_03 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Bell South 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. "Test Worked" 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? No Sharing 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. First Time User 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes There is a Brick Wall _ 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? I am sorry, but this is one of the areas I tried to work with but not sure what I am doing. Westell 2200 series modem with no seperate router. 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall ![]() AVG Free Edition. Ad-aware 16. What country are you living in? I read more and found the info about deleting the gnutella file, finding the new one and installing it. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...onnect-92.html Now I am turbo connected.
