OH now, it's just prolonged frustration. I'm sure you understand. Move of my comments carry a lot of sarcasm, so if I offend...my bad ;)

Ok. I'm not happy but I'll keep my vulgarities under control.

I followed the post Bird made in the thread If LW Will Not Connect, all the way down to the part where it says "If you're stil stuck"... I'm buggered. I've already made sure Norton as well as ZoneAlarm allows Limewire as well as other programs with work online. I don't understand why this isn't working! It must be the wifi here at my dorms are being "filtered". Man! That's a violation of my constitutional rights! *snort*

Anyway, I have no idea how to check what server my school is using or anything. I've tried via my wifi lan but didn't find anything interesting.

So... *sigh*

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
Firewalls: Norton Protection Center (came with pc), Zone Alarm, and what came with Windows
Ram: Eh... 1790 mg
HD space available: Erm...5 gigs in c:\ drive and 30gigs in d:\ (partitioned) *yeah, I know, I need more room! It's my cg program eating it!*
Connection: Wireless Lan
Location Connecting: Dorm room (college campus)
Versions: Limewire 4.2.3 Pro, Java version 6 update 4 (build 1.6.0_04-b12)
ISP: unknown
Browser Test: Failed. No "Your Test Worked" Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
Sharing or P2P: Unknown. Probably no
I've been using Limewire (on different pc's) for about 3 years but never had this problem until just before Christmas '07.
Brick wall infront of planet: YES but it still worked both directions.
Security Programs: Norton (not renewed), AVG free Edition, AVG Anti-Spyware, Windows Defender (came with pc)
Country of Residence: USA, California

Ok...now can someone please HELP!!!?? *whimpers*

:bangh:

Including updateing/rolling back Java, deleting preferences folder & replacing gnutella.net file. Remember to only have 1 Java version installed at a time.
If LW Will Not Connect

If you're sure that you've done all of those things correctly (with LW properly closed & restart afterwards), try the fixes below. The post's really old but a couple of people have recently found that it's fixed their problem.
For those who can't connect

Frostwire users: Even though the fixes refer to LW, it's all the same for FW.

If nothing there helps, pleeeease post your system details. Otherwise, how can we help you if we don't know anything about your setup? You'll find a link to system details in the 'will not connect' thread...that explains which details we need.

Ladychud,
Even though you can connect sometimes, if you give us your details then we might be able to help with that.

Atlantic78,
When you post your details, could you also list all of the fixes that you've tried so far?

I just tried the second "help" link to no success. I even tried until 4:30 in the morning messing with limewire, following your guy's ideas and suggestions and changed ports, proxy's and sock a few times.

Any other ideas?? Is there a way to check what the server/provider is without doing any asking? I mean, if I go to the tech support here at the college...they might start wondering why. *sigh* I'm exhausted. :shoot: :timetosleep:
