Default "Limewire was unable initialize and start..."

I had limewire for a year, worked fine, and then I loaded the new one. I get this:

"Limewire was unable initialize and start. This is usally due to a firewall program blocking Limewire's access to the internet or loopback connection on the local machine. Please allow Limewire access to the internet and restart Limewire."

I tried everything. I checked all the firewall exceptions, checked the Gnuttela execption thing (that ISP crap), and tried turning of my firewalls, but nothing works.
WTF!

Try the advice here: all of a sudden will not connect (a fix to try)
Start off by deleting LW's preferences folder & changing Java versions.
You'll know if you've deleted the preferences folder properly...when you start LW, you'll go through the setup wizard again & all the settings within LW's options will have changed.
If you get confused with deleting the preferences folder, have a look at this post (Windows XP).

Ok, I did all that, but still nothing. I have LW 4.14.10 on Windows XP.

I loaded the Java, which loaded fine (I still don't know what the hell Java does).

I SAW MYSELF DELETE THE STUPID FOLDER, then I searched, and it wasn't there, so IT'S DEAD!

Then I tried Limewire, and it still won't work.

Should I try removing all traces of limewire, then reloading?

I didn't mention that LW won't start at all. Just the square, then the error message.

Someone said don't delete the preferences, load gnuttela, and replace the gnuttela in preferences.
BUT, I already deleted my preference folder, and reloding LimeWire isn't returning it. I accidentally emptied recycle bin, so I can't get it back.

Limewire will not function without Java. See Sticky below. Very informative. This should get you up and running.

That's the post, but the preference folder is empty, cause i deleted it earlier and can't get it back, so i can't replace the gnuttela cause there's nothing to replace. just puting the gnuttela in by itself doesn't do anything

and i already tried Java

Limewire won't run at all! NOT AT ALL!

I'm trying to get my preferences back to try the gnuttela, but I can't get them from re-installing and Limewire can't start, I GET THAT DAMN MESSAGE!
