how many firewalls are there?????

i know my pc has a firewall that is part of the Windows XP and that i have one through my Norton anti-virus, so if both of them are turned off, why do i still get the firewall icon on the connection area and only one green bar?? how do i get limewire to see that there is not another firewall running? this is puzzling me, because i had no problems running limewire when i first started using it, now it refuses to let me play!! what up wit dat??? thanx for any simple and real help!
