 Connection Problems with 4.12 For some reason I am no longer able to download any files. The connection quality is very poor but I am still able to search. Is anybody else still able to use 4.12 or do I have to download 4.16. Any help you may be able to give me would be greatly appreciated.  |

Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? Home 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 2.14 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Tiscali 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Will check later 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. Experienced user 13. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? | (a) I hope you are aware that Tiscali have a policy of shaping p2p bandwidth. This is most likely the reason for your problems connecting.  Tiscali is listed here ISP's known to BLOCK or Filter p2p or specifically Limewire(b) Make sure your XP firewall is turned off if using Norton. They will clash & result in less security & other side effects. So make sure Norton is configured to allow LW; Configuring Norton Internet Security (c) (a) If LW Will Not Connect, __ (b) Problems with the search, __ (c) Hostiles List |
