Limewire No longer connecting

I have had LImewire for a long time and never had any difficulty. I upgraded to the most recent version and now I can't connect at all. I have followed all of the advise about adding/changing ports etc. and nothing has worked. I am an xp user and I use WOW as my ISP. Any suggestions? I have not changed anything on my computer other than upgrading to the newest version of LImewire.

Try Birdies suggestions here. (If LW will not connect)

I have tried all of birdy's suggestions. It has not helped. I have spent about 5 hours now trying all of this and I am very frustrated. It can't be my modem or anything relating to the communication, because my laptop is using the same router, configuration etc. but I have not upgraded to the new Limewire on it and it works fine. There must be something different in the new download that wasn't there before that is causing a problem. I called my ISP and they stated it wasn't an issue with them, that it was an issue with the program. I am using a couple year old Linksys router.

It could be your router. Can you give the Model # of the Linksys Router Please. Also did you try replacing the Gnutella.net File??

I did replace the gnutella.net file. I thought that might fix it because it wasn't there, but it didn't. Linksys wireless G model #wrt54g v.3

I have been having the exact same problem. It also started when I updated. I too did everything suggested, numerous times! I let it go for about 1 month and am now at it again. I have uninstalled and installed JAVA, uninstalled and installed Limewire, replaced the gnutella.net file, etc. etc. etc. Have Windows XP, Linksys wireless G model. Beyond frustration!
