Limewire wont connect, 1 bar! 1. OS version? Windows XP Home 2. What firewalls you have? Eset NOD32 Antivirus 3.0.621.0 Business Edition 3. How much ram? 512mb 4. Hard Disk space available? 50 GB + 5. Connection type? Broadband 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Orange Livebox, model: DV4210-WU 7. Where are you trying to connect from? House 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? Limewire: 4.12.10 & Java: 1.6.0_03 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Orange 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Interned Explorer cannont display the webpage 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. No 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. I have used limewire for a long time but have only recently switched to wireless boradband from dsl broadband. It was working fine before hand however I reformatted days before i started using wireless. 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? UPnP is enabled but I am also portforwarding... this was an attempt to get LW to work. I followed a guide on portforward.com. 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall. Eset NOD32 Antivirus 3.0.621.0 Business Edition, Windows Firewall. 16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). UK, England. The problem that i'm having is the annoying one bar connection that I see a lot of people are also haing. I have tried portforwarding but this has not worked. I have tried turning off NOD32 but this cannot be done. Any help with my problem would be much appreciated, thanks! |

i had the same problem first uninstall limewire delete the whole folder that contains the gunutella.net file go to program files and delete the limewire folder in there then download limewire again BUT>>[Download the offline installer] |

This is the way to install using the offline installer.... Uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer...To find the offline installer, use the link below > cancel the installer window when it pop's up and then select the offline installer link...
