Default firewall trouble

hey you guys. i really need your help here. my limewire has not been working for the past 2 months, and i thought it was because my computer (windows XP, 1.46 RAM, 250gb) was working slow, so i increased the RAM. but then, still no difference. and the worst part is, my other downloading programmes wont work too. and the thing is, my limewire has detected a firewall. i have checked my firewall and everything seems fine, i think. im not so sure. so the question is, how do i solve this? how do i get rid of the firewall, bcos when my limewire does not detect a firewall, it works perfectly. help, please. and thank you.

Sounds like it could be your ISP shaping your connection to p2p ...

Could you supply these details so we can have a look and see what maybe causing this...

4. 290 GB
5. broadband
6. modem = billion, router = ADSL router

11. im not sharing with other computers, but i do have other downloading programs as well. ares, bitcomet.
12. ive been using limewire for years, and i have not been able to use limewire for 2-3 months plus now.
13. yes! there's a brick wall.

wooh, there you go. thank you for helping me with this problem, i am completely stressed out since my limewire is not working. and thank you so much for years of excellence, limewire has been my fav downloading program. heehee.

and one more thing, what do you mean by "Sounds like it could be your ISP shaping your connection to p2p"? does that mean, the problem is with the internet itself, and nothing to do with the limewire program or my computer for that matter? because the strange thing is, my other downloading programs wont work too.

Unfortunately your ISP does limit P2P programs, that's why none of your clients are working....

Bad ISPs - AzureusWiki

The only thing I can suggest is trying to Port Forward your modem/router, it may work and it may not...

You will have to tell me the name and number of them though...You will find this information by looking underneath them...

Sure does ...

These are your instructions on port forwarding your BiPAC 5112S, as I said earlier though this may not work, as when an ISP blocks p2p usage there isn't alot you can do except to change to an ISP that doesn't....

Port Forwarding for the Billion Bipac-5112S
