Help!!!!

Ok I have read, re-read, and re-read again all the forums for trouble connecting. I even did everything that I read and nothing has worked. Limewire just all of the sudden decided it didnt want to connect. I have deleted, re downloaded, tried everything. I thought it was the firewall but limewire is in the allowed programs. So I just dont get it. I could use some help please. Thanks to all who read. :bangh:

Sleepless was refering to these details: System details - help us to help you (click on blue link)

Mcaffee .. firewall or just security programs? Only one active firewall needed & it needs to be configured to allow LW full access.

It's my guess the issue is with your modem/router or ISP. ;) But it may be something as small as java version or corrupt installation.

BTW does your security package include Pestpatrol? If yes, put LW on it's exception list. Else it will attempt to remove the LW program ... it is not safe to use with p2p programs.

Well I think your answer lies with #10. Seems that your ISP Is the Culprit.
They have an "Acceptable Use Policy." Which means they are Throttling your Bandwidth.
You can read it for your self right here. Review of CableOne - dslreports.com

Sounds like they have some Very Unhappy Customers. :(

minniemouse86305 February 18th, 2008 05:16 PM

well is there anything i can do? or do i have to call cableone to try to figure something out???

Sleepless February 18th, 2008 05:33 PM

Based on those reviews I would say a change of internet service provider is the only possible step.

You could try a BitTorrent program first, but it looks like Limewire is a no go.

Ok I just talked to cableone and they said that i have enough bandwith to download music from limewire, but that he wouldnt recommend it(blah blah blah). didnt ask him that. the problem is cableone is the only one we can get the net thru around here, unfortunatly. what is this BitTorrent program your talking about?? i dont know too much about the internal aspects of a computer.

and why would this happen out of nowhere? it seems like since i hooked up my new printer all of the sudden limewire wont work
